LIGHTFORCE BRACES
Customized Braces For More Efficient Treatment
Here at Midlands Orthodontics, we believe everyone deserves the most efficient, effective and comfortable orthodontic treatment possible. That’s why we’re pleased to offer LightForce braces! For years, orthodontists have been using mass-produced braces with a general design that was used for every patient. LightForce is the world’s only provider of 3D printed braces, one hundred percent customized for your smile.
LightForce allows orthodontists to provide the kind of custom treatment that simply wasn’t available before now, with 3D technology that’s designed to customize every bracket to fit the teeth perfectly. This makes treatment more efficient and comfortable, resulting in fewer appointments and faster treatment times. Custom brackets can also mean fewer emergencies since the braces adhere to your mouth more precisely.
LightForce Braces Versus Traditional Treatment
Other types of braces, such as traditional, metal and self-litigating are all prefabricated, meaning they take a one-size-fits-all approach. Bracket shape and size are the same for each patient, and Dr. Herrington and the Midlands Orthodontics team must then adjust brackets and bend wires during your appointments to try and fit your specific needs. These treatment options do not take into consideration the unique shape of your individual teeth—and while there is nothing wrong with these treatment options, LightForce™ Braces are 100% customized to your smile to make your smile transformation more efficient!
Indirect Bonding With LightForce Braces
Besides the customized brackets, the other significant improvement with LightForce Braces is how they are bonded to your teeth. Traditional braces require our doctors to place the brackets on each individual tooth, one at a time. This procedure can be quite meticulous and painstaking for both doctor and patient! LightForce uses indirect bonding, which means the brackets are placed on a model of your teeth in the exact position your doctor has prescribed. We then fit them into trays before sealing and curing them. Once they’re ready, the braces are bonded directly to your teeth. This method is so efficient and accurate, placement time is cut in half.
